Operation principle: centrifugal fan is based on the principle of converting kinetic energy into potential energy, using high-speed rotating impeller to accelerate the gas, then decelerate and change the flow direction, so as to convert kinetic energy into potential energy (pressure). In the single-stage centrifugal fan, the gas enters the impeller from the axial direction, changes into the radial direction when it flows through the impeller, and then enters the diffuser.
In the diffuser, the gas changes the flow direction, and the increase of the cross-sectional area of the pipe slows down the gas flow, which converts kinetic energy into pressure energy. The increase of pressure mainly occurs in the impeller, and then in the diffusion process. In a multistage centrifugal fan, a reflux device is used to make the air flow into the next impeller to produce higher pressure.
Effect: the operation principle of centrifugal fan is basically the same as that of turbine compressor, both of which are due to the low gas flow rate and little pressure change. Generally, the change of gas specific volume does not need to be considered, that is, the gas is treated as incompressible fluid. Centrifugal fan can be made into right-hand and left-hand two types. From the side of the motor: the impeller rotates clockwise, called the right rotating fan; The impeller rotates counterclockwise, which is called left rotating fan.
