確定離心式風機的變速類別時，應注意機械設備的臨界轉速比，否則，當轉速比調整到其固有頻率時，很可能破壞設備。選擇變速裝置時，應盡可能配合風機的負荷特性，避免實際運行效果不好。但要遵循一個標準，即風機的轉速比不能太大，但其較小轉速比不能低于額定值的50％。

如果工廠離心式風機需要長期中止，除開排出來剩下的水外，其滾動軸承等構件的外表層涂上防銹劑，以防止浸蝕，使電機轉子挪動后，原先的較高處坐落于較少部位。有那樣維護保養，風機在再次資金投入運作的時候會維持原先的情況。
